Stavanger’s sightseeingboat Bentenmarugan capsized off the island of Aland, in central Estonia, on Sunday.
A crew member was killed, and several others suffered serious injuries, according to local media.
The accident took place at around 11:30 am local time (06:30 GMT), when the Benten maru, which was carrying about 1,500 passengers and crew, was attempting to make a one-way trip from Aland to the nearby town of Osterås, about 100 kilometres (62 miles) away.
The Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) reported the accident to authorities in Estonia, which sent out a rescue vessel, according the Norwegian Cruiseline website.
The NCL confirmed the loss of life, and said the vessel was “safe and intact”.
The Benten Maru has a capacity of 1,400 passengers and 6 crew members, according its website.
